overclocking day 4: finallly an improvement but still not sure about the result...

ok..first of all i have to thank all of you guys that during the last few days helped me trying to teach me the art of OC

ok finally now i pushed my 3000+ venice at 2565mhz (285x9)
memory is at 183.2 ( 2/3 divider) and htt is at 1710 (285 x 3 x 2)
cpu volt at 1.66

now if i push the fsb at 286 the pc doesnt boot up.... im sure htat i can reach 2.6 ghz but dunno wat im doing wrong... also i run prime95 (whihc just finisehd now) and after 9 hours and 15 min it gives me an error (noooo )

it seems really strange....i know that this processor is really good to OC and i`ve seen some very impressive result around this forum... but still i don`t understand wat`s wrong with this....

when i move the fsb up to 290 the pc doesnt restart..so i keep press the power button and the pc turn off then i power it up and the pc starts normally...get in window but in prime 95 it gimme an error in few minutes...

might be the htt too high??? (dont think so because is only at 1710 or 855 if u dont multiply it by 2)

the temperature is fine....45 degrees at full load

might be the divider and i should try 1/2 instead of 2/3? (im going o try this now )

i fell that i can go further but y it doesnt?????

ps help

you can bump the ht or chipset up a notch and maybe loosen your timings that might hepl you a bit. Its possible that you have reached your max oc on the processor. Try the lower divider and see what happens its always worth a try to see what happens. Divider just might help you detemine if its your ram or spu holding you back. gl

I know it might scare you, or some other folks, but try bumping your PCI-E bus up a couple mhz. like 103mhz, from 100. For some reason it helps.

I believe it is your vaule ram which may be limiting your fsb or your mobo.
