Personally I saw this Coming..Dont know if you Guys did.

THERE is a new game that can make your graphic card cry. It can even make your SLI / Crossfire system cry. It is not the new Far Cry. It is called Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls and it is probably the game with the best graphics on the market. We tried to play it and were very thrilled about it.
If you use it with ATI Radeon 1K or R580 based cards you have the benefit of enjoying the High Dynamic-Demonic Range rendering with FSAA. At this time there is no indication that Nvidia cards can do this and trust me this really makes a difference.

Ill be honest ever since the situation i had a couple years ago with my 9800XT i havnt liked ATI very much but they are starting to make some nice cards and there tech and driver support is really great now from what im seeing on forums and sites i never thought i would say this but i may actually think about purchasing another ATI card in the future.

Well i cant fault either ATI or Nvidia. But i will say that IMO the Catalyst Drivers are great and are better than the nvidia drivers.

Having HDR and AA is a definate plus, and I give credit to ATi for that, but HDR lighting does chew my 7900GT even with out AA, the AA ran better for me and I might switch back...

speaking of which I need to get back to playing that game, haven't played it in a week

Yeah you do, I think I've been the only one from here playing recently.

On topic: Anyone have any screenshots with HDR and FSAA?

Well from my understanding Nvidia cards cant run AA and HDR on a game like Oblivion because of the way its designed, essentially they have just been modifying the core for quite a few generations, but the G80 will be a new core for pretty obvious reasons, and will more than likely be able to run AA and HDR.. But it can run AA and HDR on Source Engine based games.

So its not that the 7900GTX is weak, its just that its not designed to run HDR like whats on Oblivion. (due to the core being just modified, not redesigned like ATI has done)

ATI is great, like others have said, gotta give them a pat on the shoulder. I may have to take a second look at their cards again.
