pins for internal speaker on asus p5g41-m-lx2 not found

Thread Starter
I just replaced a asus p5k with a asus p5g41-m-lx2 because I am having boot up issues with the p5k and ASUS wont do a thing about it for me. Anyway, I cant find the pins for the internal speaker on the mobo, this is the speaker that beeps when you boot up and acknowledges the gpu. Anyone familiar with this mobo? Called Asus but their off on the weekends.

Should be located at the near bottom of the PCI slots and has a black base.

If you still can't find it, it might have been a manufacturing defect, and you should RMA it back.

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=4CHKsRd0uq8UAWh0 go to the downloads and locate the manuals and check for yourself whats what.

I'm sorry but that appears to be the closest product ASUS kept docs on.

calling their tech support is not going to help you very much with this sort of thing you're best learning more information about your problems on your own.

now you say you're having trouble getting your motherboard to post - did you try using different DIMM slots or using only one stick of memory instead of all of them? did you flip the battery for 15-20 seconds then flip it back to clear out any non-standard CMOS configs?

I wonder if it doesnt come with one because it is such a cheap board. This is only a 50.00 board , a micro at that. I may have a defect , also , I cant find teh manual on teh asus site. They have drivers, utilities, etc but no manual.

The PC speaker connector is usually part of the front panel connectors.

now you say you're having trouble getting your motherboard to post - did you try using different DIMM slots or using only one stick of memory instead of all of them? did you flip the battery for 15-20 seconds then flip it back to clear out any non-standard CMOS configs?
I pulled out the battery, update the bios chipset, tried 2 psu's, 3 different gpu's both ati and n-vidia, 3 os's (xp,vista and win7), tried 1 stick at a time in different dimm slots, also tried different pci-e slot, tried 2 monitors, disabled sleep mode cause when it went into sleep mode it would never wake up had to reboot, sent to asus twice and they cant find anything wrong and thats because the problem is inconsistent. I also, tested the ram and basically tried everything except for the cpu. The strange thing is that when I replaced the psu it worked fine for about a week then started up again. I am using this new cheaper board andso far so good but its only been an evening. This thing had to be rebooted multiple times , over and over until it finally triggeredt the gpu and I had a display. When it failed I would ge tnothing at all the monitor would just remain blank. Im really dissapointed in asus for not helping me though I have to replace and with a cheaper board and that bugs me.
