[hardware.no]GTX 460 replacement next year.

Seems Nvidia went really fast past the Gtx 400 series.

Quote:
500-Series makes that known entry into the market and replaces the 400-series consecutively.Nvidia has decided to postpone the launch of the GTX 560. The main reason will just be that the GTX 460 sold well, partly because it showed off so good between the AMD cards

I think they meant that the stores sold all their AMD stock and people had to buy GTX 460s or wait for the next series.

Not really needed anyways. It's like the 460SE. A waste of manufacturing and marketing costs.
It's sad that they even made the GTX5xx series off of something that's not even worthy of a next-gen name. The GTX580 should have just been the GTX485. A 10-15% increase does not warrant a next-gen naming scheme.

So I'll be able to get 2 460s for around $250 seems like win for me even if it is outdated a little.

Ya, they did pull the 500 series out pretty quick. I would of waited till the later to buy my cards then get the 460's I did (and one is still not working).

Happy with the 460's (well, the 1 currently) but you know how it is. =)
