I only address PMs about the team competition when I'm doing score updates. Otherwise there's too great a chance of missing something since I need to have the site up, admin tools open, and the score spreadsheet available, and I usually only have those open when I do updates. Also, I don't normally add members late in a month because the scoring is retroactive to the first of the month, so it's a bit unfair to the other teams.

Anyway, expect to see team changes with the first update of the new month.

Welcome to the team! To answer your question, I run a dual-boot setup. I fold smp in SuSE 10.3 native and boot into windows to play WoW and such. Most of the time though i am in linux. I found that i got a significant decrease in frame times by doing this(on average 2 mins/frame faster).

oooh. no wonder your ppd is high. did you follow a guide to dual boot? i was always thinking about it but i've never really tried out linux. Just wondering; what are your average times on project 2653 & 2665? i've been getting those two projects alot lately.

Personally I've done dual boots with XP/Linux and XP/Vista, and there's no trick at all to doing it. The Linux installer automatically assumes you want to dual boot (at least the ones I've used), and you have to manually set it to nuke Windows if that's what you want.

Personally, I like using Linux through VMWare on the system that I game with. With that, I can continue folding (at a slower rate, of course) while gaming and not have to worry about booting to a different OS whenever I want to do something different.

did you follow a guide, Taeric? i don't know. the reason why i'd choose to dual boot is because folding is faster in native linux. but i've tried using vmware + linux and the only problem i've had is that i couldn't run fahmon with it (never got it able to work) but yeah

i'm using windows smp 5.91beta6 and the only difference between the system tray one is that you'll be getting lesser points as compared to if you have a dual core using smp.
