Let's play Sim City 4! Dig your copies out of the closet! - Page 26

I used to go on Simtropolis but only for these awesome add ons on the ST exchange
I remember mass-downloading addons from people like the BSC, SCAG, that NAM thing that adds road features, etc.
But that was only for a really short short time in around 2009 when someone gave me an SC4 copy and I really enjoyed it - and then Cities XL came out and changed everything

Wait, what's this? it's on my desk? *inserts into DVD drive*

Oh yeah, my drive died.

Looks like I'll have to obtain it through, erm, other methods so that I may play it.

I remember the first time I passed 100k population, I was so happy Thanks for getting me into the game again, I miss it.

Nuking cities is fun. Just remember not to save.

Aha! Turns out I have an old CD drive hanging around. Excellent, I have some other games to install too.

I'll keep that in mind though. Thanks.

EDIT: It works! Yes! Woo!

Watch out for this guy. LOL..JK

I, too, do that when I get bored. And yes..must not save. Made that mistake once before. Needless to say that city got a facelift.

I had it for awhile but for whatever reason I didn't use it. When I finally did I realized how awesome it is. DocRorlach, the creator of DIC, has a CJ here on Simpeg.

I've thought about picking up CXL a few times.

EDIT: I can but would you know to go read it.

Have you tried SC4 Startup Manager? This one is a beauty, too. A must have for the serious SC4 player. Some of my cities use terrain mods. This makes it really easy to apply the mod for the regions they are in. This means no more manually removing a folder out of the plugins directory.

The problem with editing is that the person I'm addressing doesn't get notified of the edit. Some people go to their User CP to see what threads they are participating in and has new content. Some people use their email notifications. For those people they will not see the edit unless they revisit the thread on their own.

How does the Steam copy fare with plug-ins/mods? It's on sale for $5 on Steam right now and it's REALLY tempting.
