Ok let me try to explain this as simple as possible!

Download Driver Cleaner
Unistall the Rivatuner via Rivatuner program option.
Find the driver and download to desktop. I am using the 84.21.
Go to Control panel and unistall Nvidia driver only.
Then reboot. As the system reboots windows will tell you it has found new hardware (((cancel out of all of them)).
Start up Driver cleaner. From the drop down box in driver cleaner click on Nvidia only. Then run cleaning process more than once. I run it 8-9 times before i install driver.

Install new driver!
Install Rivatuner again

Good luck

Nothing directly about the 6800, more of a how to on tweaking the nVidia drivers and stuff. It applies to all nVidia cards that use forceware and the BF2 tweaks apply to ALL GPUs.

ahhh gotcha.. I am in the process of reinstalling everything. I driver cleaned everything with nvidia, nforce, and ati, uninstalled the 6800, reinstalled the nforce drivers, restarted, installed the geforce drivers, restarted, and am now installing BF2 and will re-apply that patch (I've learned from experience to keep the patch somewhere on the hdd so I can access it without having to download it all over again.) I will post results in little while

Haha don't offend my PC... It may very well be the ram, but I never had a problem with it before which makes me think it is something else. When I start a new game and am selecting my kit, I get 60fps (overlooking the map and such) but as soon as I drop in the frames drop to maybe 10-15. Is that ram then?

maybe try oc'n your card a bit more ( look at my sig ) than the bfg oc .
here is my settings when playing bf2 with a evga 6800
these are my card settings

vsync off

image settings to quality
trillinear optimization ON
anisotropic mip filter optimization ON
anisotropic sample optimization ON
tripple buffering OFF

antialiasing - application controlled
anisotropic filter - application controlled

bf 2 settings
terrain high
geometry medium
textures medium
effects medium
lighting medium
shadows low
dynamic lights low
anitalias 4x
texture filtering medium
view distance 100%

and with 1gig of ram and my old cpu i manage anywhere from 50 to 70 fps . no stuttering at all . its very smooth and looks pretty decent.
try those settings out and see if its any better.

oh and i use one of my recording interfaces as my sound card and it runs the sound in bf2 on hardware mode m-audio delta 44

Unfortunately the BFG is a TERRIBLE overclocker, especially with the extra pipes unlocked. With the pipes off, I can get the core up to around 360 (it is supposed to be 350 stock but isn't) and memory around 800, but with the pipes on only maybe 330 and 800. However, performance is substantially higher with the other pipelines opened up. As soon as this darn patch finishes I will give your settings a try.

IT FINALLY WORKS! After all the Driver Cleaning and stuff it finally gets the frames i was expecting! I attribute all of it to a driver conflict/software issue, but it is all resolved. Thank you all for all of your help!
