athlon ii x3 450 advice please

Purchased above cpu as oem, unlocked 4th core. boots into windows 7 x64 fine,

but when i try to run apps, it just hangs, tried upping voltage to 1.4v and upping chipset voltage to same, still hangs, disabled active control, same result.

tried under clocking it to 2.8ghx dropped multiplier still same.
cheap mobo though, asrock n68c-s ucc .

updated to latest bios and showed at post x4 B50 or similar, just wanted to ask if theres anything anyone can suggest to try and get it stable in windows.

turn off cool and quiet

Does your mobo have a option to enable Unleashing
Read the unlocking guide for tips?

If you disable the 4-th clock again, does it then work ok?

thanks for the replies, i messed about with active control, and found that core 1 was dud,disbaled control of this core, and it boots and win 7 runs sweet, as a bonus i still get the 6mb lvl3 cache, so thats a good thing,

i will try for all cores with cool and quiet off, see what happens.

Tried again with all four cores active, disabled cool & quiet. still boots to windows, but hangs when i try to run apps etc.

disable dud core, still gives me lvl3 cache so all good, thanks again for the advice. no hybrid mode or unleashing just bod standard NCC options with active control over cores

How about underclocking the core that is dodgy so far?

set it to -12% then try booting?

Also - you havent filled out your sig rig but are you using 4 sticks of memory or 2? sometimes 4 sticks prevent OCing so it may be effecting your unlocking - (may be talking out of my backside!)

still no good with lower clock speed on that core. even went as low as 2.4ghz

keeps booting into windows , but fails to run anything,

so i guess ill stick to 3 cores with extra lvl cache,
