I had that problem with my 9600 (a 9550 is really a underclocked 9600). I would advise downloading ATI if u ain't already using it. In the setting. look at the Miscellaneous Setting. U will c a tick box with "Remove Radeon 9000/9200/9550/9600 clock lock". that should fix the problem. Also u could try Flashing your card 2 a 9600. Check 2 c that the memory Bus width of the card is 128bit and not 64bit. if it is. U r in luck. because u can flash it 2 a 9600. if it is a 64bit one u can flash it 2 a 9600SE. Also flashing the Card 2 a 9600 of ethier type will make the default clocks b the ones u have already set. And it shouldn't recover the GPU anymore. Also i have the same core in mine as what your's would have. I managed 2 get it up 2 600Mhz with some nice cooling. i would advise u get some better cooling 4 the card if u really wanna get the most outa it. anyway i hope this helps.

Obviously the GPU isnt stable like that, did you use the auto OC on tray tools or do it your self then scan??
If you did it yourself or used the HIS sofware, download ATI tray tools, start it up and go to, find max core then hen it gets it put core to stock, then go to find max mem and you should be good to go

U have 2 use the Force Method. I won't allow u 2 Flash it because it reconsies it as another type of card. They type of bios u will need will b a "HIS 9600 pro 256mb". Also look at upgrading the cooling. It is a cheap upgrade "about say $15-$20 US". BTW i don't even know the difference between those 2 cards. probally just different cooling, Clock speeds or something like that. BTW when u say really hot, how hot do u mean??? because some cards can run rather hot with no problems at all. e.g. on a 40 Deg C day my 9600 get up around 80-90 Deg C. With no artifact or anything. btw the comand 2 force is "-f". Just add it at the end of the line. and it should work. Still all flashing does it really make it say that it is a 9600 pro, XT or whatever. it doesn't trend 2 interfer with the way it performs. So if u can Get it stable with just pure OCing. like i did, i would just stick with OCing. because Flashing isn't 100% perfect. i have seen alot of people screw there cards because of it.

If you know it wont play at 325/200 then try 320 and 195 etc. because if it freezes when doing tray tools i guess you will never get it right with that. Also Another possibility is that your card just isnt good for OCing.
