Has G.Skill FF 4800 been discontinued

Thread Starter
Hi to all,

I have 2 x 512 g.skill ff 4800 memory in the PC now, and have been looking around for another 1GB. It seems that g.skill have stopped this item now. Is this correct, and if I want to add another 1GB, what options are open to me.

Thanks
Gene

It's still listed at G.Skill.
http://www.gskill.com/ddr.html
It's TCCD so I'd have to say it's no longer available new unless you get real lucky. Samsung has discontinued the chip production.

Bumber, auction ends in 1H31m and is the only source of it I've found current but $160 for "BRAND NEW set of G.Skill F1-4800DSU2-1GBFF"

Maybe you can confirm this Duke, but I've heard the AMD memory controller isn't too happy with all four memory slots filled...

Perhaps it's better to look into a good 2GB kit (2 x 1GB) like the G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail
Both The_Duke and I run that smoothly (and I hope to do so after my upgrades )

Duke and I are both running the same as you, only the PC4000 version. It's great stuff.. unfortunately, the PC4800 is discontinued. Also, as I stated, the AMD memory controller ain't happy with all four slots filled (thus 4 x 512 MB of the G.Skill PC4800 stuff will not work good).

That's why I recommended the PC4000.. still good stuff, highly overclockable, and available in 2x1GB kits.

Good luck

With the 939 setups it can run 400mhz (and an overclock) at whatever timings are the weakest leak but it will run at 2T.

That's the only drawback with the 939 setups, 754 different story.
