Intel and AMD GFLOPs data thread. *LOOKING FOR SANDYBRIDGE TOO* - Page 36

Seems IBT is always a little less than LinX. In LinX I am a pretty consistent 61.5 to 61.6 GLops, but IBT is ALWAYS about 1/2 GFlops less. A couple of buddies of mine were b0ng musing about this and we attribute the less GFlops to the little flame that the IBT uses..Were were not very scientific... we were..umm something else, not scientific.

I needed to flick Bale3Wolf's nose anyway for his better SuperPi time at 4:20 GHz than mine. Nice job on the SuperPi time btw B.. I cant get stable with my mem at 1800 MHz in the 4:20 GHz or get my timings lower than 8-8-8-24 1T @1600 MHz. I think I will need to do a little more work to beat your 9.656s 1M time, that's just too good a SuperPi time @ 4:20 GHz..

420061gflopsdec19.jpg

Anyway, I think I barely averaged 61 GFlops out of the 10 passes, but 60.9 to 61.1 GFlops is what I get on every test.

heh, check out my 3D Mark though. This is the score of a man who needs his new graphics card yesterday . eek.gif

Talk about a lack of balance..doh.gif

Sorry for the window layout, 1024 x 600 isn't really big enough for IBT and two instances of CPU-Z.

That's awesome dude.. what did it take about 5 1/2 hours to run those 10 passes? Who would have thought an overnight stability test would consist of firing up 10 passes of IBT before going to bed. I wonder how long it would take my old 486 DX (heh, with the math co-processor) to run IBT, or if it even could run it. I got windows 3.1 running on it, but if I want to get all the GFlops possible I need to run it command line in DOS.

lol yeah, had to run it all night. I doubt the 486 would run it. I tried to run it on an 800 MHz Pentium III and IBT wouldn't work, it just shows an error message when you try to run it.

[EDIT] Does IBT require the .NET Framework? I know I don't have .NET installed on it because it runs an OpenVPN server and a TeamSpeak server and I wanted as little on it as possible.

I can't even remember if there was such a thing as a "GFlop" in the 486 days, at least not in the common context we see today. A 486 would likely use MFlops to measure the CPU instead. I am not sure if IBT needs .NET Framework or not. Why would you need .NET?

Probably KFlops, since my Atom was about 400 MFlops and surely it trounces the old 486.

According to the download page IBT requires .NET 2.0, I assume the GUI is built in WinForms. I'll have to install .NET on my P3 tonight and give it a run. Maybe I'll post back in a week or so with its results.

In for slowest CPU again!

I'm really surprised about this. My Atom is barely faster, at least when using IBT as a benchmark.
