Who Hooo Broke 1000 points.

1140 in 6 WU

Would of done it faster but the folding app was freezing my box plus I needed to rip a coupple of movies.

Is the folding app unstable after it runs for a week straight. How often do you have to reboot?

My settings are

Core = Lowest Posible

CPU = 100%

Check Pont = 3 min

Deadlines = No prefrence

using the GUI

Congrats on the milestone. I run both the console and graphical version (on different computers), and I never reboot for the sake of folding. The applications are generally very stable. If you're experiencing issues with the graphical version, try switching to the console version. You can drop it in the same directory and pick up where the graphical version left off. The console version doesn't have pretty graphics, but those get old after a while. Coupled with a program such as FahMon (FAQ in my sig), the console version can give you more information about the WU and your progress than the graphical version.

Since the two are completely interchangable, try out the console, and if you don't like it, switch back.

I try to let it run 24/7 but life interviens. My wife uses PSP10 and the 2 dont work well and play togeather so i have to shut Folding down untill she is done. And when i rip movies using dvd decrip and dvd shrink i have to shut it down i get to many artifacts in the copy. Other than that my hyper threaded p4 3.0 ghz with its 2 meg of L2 and running 2 gig of ddr2 has no issues with running with all of my other apps.

Folding, Folding, Folding,
Folding, Folding, Folding !!! Rawhide? Congrats on your folding milestone!
----------------------------------------------------------
My wife just ask me to start helping her with Folding?

So I pulled out an old Compaq Presario from the basement and set it up next to the washer and dryer?

She asked me why her old PC was set up in her laundry area?

I just stood there and looked at her with helpful eyes and explained that I thought it was very thoughtful and most kind and considerate of her to want to designate her very own folding machine to such a great cause? She looked at me sorta dumb-founded and walked away...

Her folding is coming along fine, the Presario near the dryer is virtually effortless and the load with the socks and t-shirts has been taken out to the clothes line where in doing so has afforded yet another form of folding?

The kind that requires a clothes line & pins and the type that is kind and requires a phone line near the laundry room....
