Corsair 800D water build: Modded for TWO 480mm radiators (final incarnation)

Update November2011: I ran into some money woes so my setup changed a bit. I no longer have the lovely 580s and the monster rx480s, but the setup has evolved to something a bit more milder. I have a swiftech mcr 420 on the top and an mcr 320 at the bottom. I'm running dye and a new res.

One last decent looking pic

Update 8/27: Psu is done, only thing left is cable management. So this is a wrap atm. Only other item is a possible change of the mb to a MIVE but I have yet to find a seller.

Update 8/23
GTX 580s on waterr
Update: 8/17 Just placed the order for three Heatkiller blocks and the 3rd fermi has arrived. Should be done by next week to end this thread . Rma psu tested beautifully and its shipping to its new owner soon, my new psu is still in backorder so hopefully that arrives by next weekend too.

Update 8/9
Lol, this is never ending . Well, after an unsuccessful venture with amd, I decided to sell the cards (two of them, one was bad, rma'ed and refunded) and go back to Nvidia. I just had too much trouble with the amd drivers and I fell much at home with nv. Still, the 6950s unlocked were beastie cards and could handle gaming on three screens. Too bad all my benchmarks were crap with them . So, I took the plunge and decided to go with 580 with 3gb for Surround. So far, the first card has been beyond what I expected. The psu has been rma'ed due to the noise at load and I'll be selling the hopefully new replacement. Thus, I'm without a psu and can't test the second 580 that arrived yesterday. Since the new proposed psu is longer than the old one, I've sold my lovely FrozenQ reservoir and downgraded to a smaller res. Stay tuned, I don't want to lie again and say its over. Apparently, I don't quite grasp the meaning of that
Update: 7/17
I promised my wife no more upgrades (and money) for a while. I just relocated the pump to the bottom since the HK setup is a bit different the the old EK bridge setup. I'll break down the rig in a few months and I'll mod the case a bit to relocate the pump back to the middle area.

Phase 1, bolt on modsFor this build, I'm going with a straight forward build. Nothing extreme as in past ventures (click on the sig links). For the exception of the sleeve and some custom wiring, everything in this build is bolt-on. I hope anyone venturing into water cooling can get inspired and start a water cooling build.

Parts:
-Corsair Obsidian 800D (stock, for now )
-Asus Rampage III Extreme
-Intel i7 950
-Corsair Dominators 12GB 1600
-2x Zotac + 1x MSI GTX 470 in Triple SLI (2nd Zotac pending rma)
three Zotacs gtx 470 in triple sli
-Hitachi Deskstar 1tb (sig hdd)
-Asus dvd-rw
-Lamptron Fan-Atic controller
-Viewsonic 24" lcd
-Thermaltake Toughpower 1200w psu, sleeved using high density sleeve.

-XSPC RX360
-XSPC X20 750 pump/res (harness modded for 3-pin) <-Pending sale
-Swiftech MCP355 (pending delivery)
-XSPC Dual Bay reservoir for single DDC (pending delivery)
-EK Supreme HF (round top) Nickel/Acrylic
-EK FB RE3 Nickel/Acrylic
-3x EK FC-GTX 470 Nickel Acrylic
-3x EK FC-470 GTX Nickel back plate
-EK FC Bridge Triple Parallel
-3x EK FC Link GeForce
-EK FC Link Blank
-10' Primochill White 1/2x3/4 tube
-6x Yate Loon 120mm fans
-Koolance SHR-1020BK 3x120mm fan shroud
-Koolance ADT-XUTX4 4-way fitting
-Koolance VL4 Compression QDC (quick disconnect) fittings (for drain line)
-TFC 1/2/x3/4 Nickel compression fittings (24x, but most likely it will be a dozen, I bought all these for my last build which had three rads )
-EK Nickel Dominator Ram block

Ok, as I mentioned, the majority is bolt on stuff. This is not an extreme or dremel happy build, but something noobs or anyone can use as a rough guide to plan a bolt-on build, especially water cooling.

no dremel, for now .

Ran into a snag, 8-pin atx is too short, I got a spare extension I decided I'm going to splice into the harness and lengthen it ~ 6-8". See there is some customization in this build

2nd gtx 470 is on its way from rma

Also pending delivery: cpu, ram, shroud, and fitting.

In the meantime, I'm custom making a pcie 8-pin harness as the psu I got from another member here was missing one and I'm making a few more custom harness for the peripherals and sleeving the last few cables.

edit: after an hour creating the pcie 8-pin using spare parts and wires I had, it turned out to be a 6-pin modular . Anyways, this thermaltake psu pcie 8 is basically an atx/cpu 8-pin male connector (the one that goes into the psu it self ). I just ordered an Enermax pcie 6pin from ppcs.

PSU is sleeved. This was preowned, I guess the first owner had some theme going on and this unit got a bit of customization. Anyways, the stickers were completely removed, and there is some spray paint on it. Quick fix, bought some matte black vinyl sticker sheet, will cover the outer casing with it to blend in with the case.

Overall, Im pleased with the sleeving job, I doubled up the wires so I ended up using less sleeve. Do note that the 4+4 atx pin was done w/ cheap sleeve; its permanently attached, Im thinking of converting it to an 8-pin atx as the R3E was the option for two.

Well, some pretty depressing news. I just got my rma gtx 470 after sending back the first replacement as it was crashing after 10 mins of usage. It turns out that the first card I sent back was shipped to me . Its possible it might have been fixed, or that a bone-head in the rma dept sent it back. Can't verify it until I get my cpu and ram at the end of the week. Zotac is not going to be my 3rd gtx 470

the splitter I ordered was a bit too small and some clearance issues came up w/ the compression fittings. I had some 45° elbows in my parts bin, did a little creative set up to include the drain line. I know my flow will be affected but I don't think it would be so dramatic. Looks nice non-the-less Shroud also came in.
