Rebuilding my baby

A few days ago, i decided to get a new CPU cooler. I had been using my stock heatsink/fan and it just wasn't cutting it. My idle temps were around 130 degrees F on hot days and the load temps were sometimes in the 165-170 range! I was thinking it was the holding "screws" (plastic pieces of junk) that were the problem. When i pressed on the cooler, temps dropped while idle, so i think the heatsink was sitting to far up and not being pressed down hard enough...needless to say, i bought a Tuniq Tower 120 6 days ago and got it today. I also bought a 120mm intake fan to replace my stock case one. This baby pushes alot of air and is fairly quiet with about 34DB max sound. Check it out here

Anyway....while i was waiting for this stuff to come, i decided to take my computer apart, TOTALLY apart...motherboard, everything out of the case. I dusted, found alot of dust, and also decided to order a filter for the intake fan. Now, my case and components are sparkling clean. I got all of the old crappy thermal paste off my processor and i now will be using AS5

My computer specs will be the same for the most part, just the addition of the Tuniq Tower 120 and a new intake fan...oh and also, LOWER TEMPS!!!! Hopefully

Wish me luck peeps...here i go...after a quick meal

Good luck man. I love getting a new heatsink...it'sl ike "ok now, time to overclock again. It's so much fun.

Also, that's a good idea with the filter...I should probably get some for mine, but my front intakes aren't pushing enough air as it is...so I gotta upgarde those first.

Thanks. Someone told me to use panty hose or whatever, but i decided to just order filters since they were only 1 dollar and since i was ordering the heatsink from the same store, lol. Anyway, done with dinner...time to rebuild!
