i3-550 OC'ing is so much different *pounds head on desk*

Good god...

I am seeing so many guides that have i5 this and i7 that, but I have an i3. Talking about turbo and these new bclock & QPI clock things. MY FREAKING HEAD IS SPINNING!!!

I can OC LGA775 chips without a problem, but I am beside myself right now.

Can someone point me to a nice streamlined guide to get this sucker going at 4Ghz? Maybe break some of this down for me? I'm using This Guide right now, but still finding myself saying ***.

I am using my sig rig for this attempted OC and would also like to be able to get my G.Skill Ripjaws running nice and tight at 1600.

I'm feeling totally newb sauce right now.

Try this guide, betting it will help you out a bit. His guide for Lynnfields is pretty good and I don't doubt that his Clarkdale guide is as well.

Took me a bit, but after awhile the old experience kicked in and took over.

So what is considered a safe 24/7 max load temp for these things? I know TJ max is like 99c, but I shouldn't think that is acceptable.

Also, that run I have a SS of wasn't as stable as I'd like it to be. Would you think I have enough room to up the Vcore some more?

The i3 is really just an i5 (or i7) without turbo boost or HT. What's the issue here?
