Hey, sorry to hear about the fire.

I thought I'd share my tale as it may help simplify your situation...

In early May I bought the AMD 1055t and an MSI 890FXa-GD70 MB. I began overclocking it straight away and after awhile got it Linx stable to 4.2 Ghz.

Needless to say, I was pleased and immediately did the single dumbest computer thing of my life: set it to do 50 runs of LinX at full memory. I then shut off my monitor and went to bed.

SO now that you are done laughing at my stupidity let me tell you how it worked out: I awoke to a dead system of course.

I went out the next day and bought an Asus Crosshair 4 Formula and haven't had any trouble since. Though it's only stable to 3.8 on this board, it has been such for months now.

To the point then, I went to MSI's website and filled out an RMA request and then returned the board as instructed by them. after about 2 months I got a brand new MB in the mail no questions asked.

Now I should have taken pictures but the LinX runs had generated so much heat the the MB was warped and the CPU socket was deformed from the heatsink pressing against it.

SO just RMA it and get a new one.

Have a nice day.

If the motherboard has some bios features like "extreme overclock madness blahblah so awesome", than I'd RMA this to theyr asses, if not I wouldn't be "dissapointed" in MSI for not replacing the board since its obviously not made for overclocking like many of their supreme boards.

I wouldn't worry, your dual core draws FAR less power than an x6. If you have it unlocked, just back your vcore (and your OC) down a bit to be safe.

Your's probably cycles through phases. On 1 boot it will boot up with the first set of 16 phases, and on the next boot it will use only the other 16. This extends the life of the VRMs by making them less used.
