A while ago I've found an interesting video "how to safely get around corners". The audio is in klingon german but if you just watch what that red Löwe does and how much bounces off its side you'll get the idea.
It's terrific and works almost everywhere, even with wreckage or bunkers and whatnot.
~ 2:00 how people usually do it exposing their side
~ 2:40 this is how it's done thumb.gif except the first shot goes right through rolleyes.gif

later on he shows it in a Maus but it also works on smaller tanks which are not made of paper thin side armor. I wouldn't suggest trying it with an ELC though biggrin.gif

Basic idea is to facehug the wall in front of you, only drive backwards to shoot and have your side armor exposed at a very shallow angle so enemies have lots of bounces.

Yeah that works on pretty much all tanks, AKA Sidescraping, usually you either bounce or get trackdamage since they absorb the shots. You only need to watch if you get more than 15-20 degree angle they might get through, or have 3x larger caliber than your side armor is thick, IE M103 Tier 9 US Heavy, vs 150mm+ guns goes through no matter the angle smile.gif

@mosi - tx for the tip! +rep for u!

Looking to spend more time playing WoT this weekend. Haven't had this much fun in a tank for awhile. Actually, I haven't had played any games in awhile.

Saw this video and it had some good tips including what mosi described.

Going the cheap route so I'm just getting to the mediums at tier IV. I mostly enjoy using the lights and have been sticking to the heavies to provide support and to stay alive longer. Tons of fun so far!

Seeing a lot of tier IX tanks now. Those tanks are huge!! Kind of awestruck just being next to them!!!! Seen tanks I haven't even looked at on the tree before.

Got myself a T50 and have been playing it a lot. Got everything on it except for the top end radio. This is a fun tank and I think I will just have to keep it in the garage. Its become my all time favorite. Was going to upgrade from the Luchs up to the Leopard but I think the T50-2 will be the end of the line for light tanks for me. One of the best parts is pushing those heavies up the hill so they can get to the battle quicker....LOL!!!

Found this site that helps with scouting and probably would help just in general. He also has maps that are very helpful.

I did the Leo, and now have a VK-2801 Cougar. Both are fun but a dead end. The Cougar is also different play stile than most lights, more a fast medium. The ELC and new Chinese seem better for higher end lights.
And scout tanks: First thing you get is radio! It is much more important than a gun smile.gif

The German artillery keeps getting worse and worse, it is like lottery if you hit anything with a GwPanther lol.

Atleast the Tiger P is good fun, same goes for StugIII.
