While on topic of tank equipment, what about crew skills? Been awhile since I last really got into the game.

on mediums I usually do brothers in arms first skill (just train up camo or repairs or some kind of skill then drop it when you can get a full BIA for each member), followed by sixth sense, smooth ride, snap shot, safe stowage and situational awareness. then a 4:1 mix of camo to repairs for third skills across all crew and whatever else after that.

I kinda do the same with heavies except 2nd skill after BIA I go for straight up repairs, then throw some of the medium tank skills (smooth ride, snap shot) in for increased on the move accuracy. could throw some firefighting or preventative maintenance in there too if its getting set on fire a lot.

lights and td's just focus on camo, sixth sense and view range buffs (recon, situation awareness). designated target is also a useful one for lights. a lot of TD's benefit from clutch braking as well since they have crap traverse. could even use for some heavies.

of course all tanks are different and some need more specialized sets of skills, I tried to generalize it as much as possible.

In general: Heavies start with full repairs (snap shot/smooth ride if REALLY bad gun handling) then retrain commander to Sixth Sense after first skill is done and start repairs again.
Then you can do smooth ride/snap shot if you haven't yet, or repair. Also train your loader for Safe Stowage on every tank.

Mediums should most of the time start with full Camo + smooth ride/snap shot if you feel like it. Then same deal as above, retrain Sixth Sense/Safe Stowage. After full Camo I would take Situational Awareness / Recon if possible without sacrificing Sixth Sense/Safe Stowage.

After I got basics like Repairs or Camo done with Situational Awareness, Recon, Sixth Sense and Safe Stowage, I take Firefighting on all my tanks because I have never used AFE in my life, I have always played with Small Repair Kit + Small First Aid Kit + Large Repair Kit.

You shouldn't train BIA until third or fourth skill on any tank, the invidual perks are more worth it.

I feel like the exponential increase in XP required for your crew is quite a drag after 2 skills... I'm at 90% on my 3rd skill in the STB-1 and its like 20k to 91%...Just seems nuts to me. It was nice this past weekend getting the 2x per battle + my personal reserves 2x x2 also. I ended up getting like 1k XP base, which turned into over 5k XP for my crew per battle. Worked out quite nice.

If you don't train a fresh crew on every single tank you buy, your crew will level up rather fast.

I got so many 4 skill crews I can't count at 12k games and my E5 has 5 skill crew in it.
Playing tanks you enjoy you won't even notice before you are already picking new perks for your tank.

maybe consider a STA-2 in your future? it gets smack talked a lot because it compares poorly to the AMX CDC as a money maker but it'd make a decent crew trainer, especially if you were good with the STA-1. I believe it recently got some gun handling and mobility buffs a patch or two ago as well to compensate for the low pen.

I paid like $3 each a few years ago for a T-25 and Church3. Sold both after awhile...yea I know. I probably won't spend more than $5 at a time with this game. I enjoy it but I'm not "rich" enough to pay to win..Just not worth it to me.

It is not pay to win though. Far from it.
