So basically I'm going to have to battle with different tanks so I can start to build up some cash... I need to get XP to get the better guns because the stock Zio-6 suggs too. Hopefully I'll get the new gun soon. Requires 17k XP and I'm @ 6k right now.... I typically average over 500xp per game and when its 2x xp first game of the day usually I can get 1200xp+ The armor on the KV4 is incredible! I have died alot but thats against tier 9 and 10's... 185mm front armor is darn good!

You run premium account? Get some tier 5 tanks, M4 Sherman / PZ IV, they make a nice profit. Or consider buying a premium tank perhaps, the Löwe & T34 prints silver smile.gif

My premium account just ran out. tongue.gif So yeah... been grinding the KV-5, Type 59 and IS-6 pretty heavily as of late. tongue.gif

Another fun tank to drive around is the KV-2. Makes a decent amount of silver if you just snipe with it. Derp-de-derp. biggrin.gif

What gun do you run on the kv2? I am almost afraid of upgrading or equipping it as high t battles are tough in it for me.

I'm going to bet he will be using the 152mm derp by his derp-de-derp comment haha.

I will say however that I prefer to use the 107mm, decent pen, ok damage and reasonable RoF. I just hate that dang reload on the 152mm, totally kills it for me. If you're throwing sprem rounds though the derp can do wonders.

I like derp on the Hertzer and KV-1 but both of them are about 6 reload time. That 2 scares me. I am an aggressive driver, I push the push. But I will try the 107 first I think. Pen is better then dmg. 700 DMG heat rounds though biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Derp sure is fun at times, I remember hitting a Löwe in the side with regular HE and pen, this was before gold rounds were available with creds. Anyhow, it did just over 50% of his HP in damage, somewhere around 850-900 smile.gif, awesome!

Yeah, running the 107 with the KV-2 is just silly. You can run the more heavily armored and faster T-150 if you wanna run the 107. You play the KV-2 for the derp cannon. :3

Also, with Vents, and the Rammer @ 100% crew training, you sit pretty at 20.25 seconds between shots. If you play it like a side-shot support tank, you tend to obliterate other tanks. biggrin.gif

I carry 16 HE and 20 HEAT shells with me... :3 I tend to shoot HEAT during low tier fights because HE is more effective against higher tiers. I know that sounds odd but lemme explain.

High Tier vs the KV-2:
- Faster ROF
- Higher accuracy
- Generally equal damage per shot
- Considerably higher penetration values
- Considerably higher armor
- Faster traverse and movement speeds

So... since they move faster than you, you can't rush in and the 107mm gun doesn't pack enough firepower to make a lasting difference when they see what's hitting them. That an the KV-2 is generally the prime target in ANY fight, low or high tier. On top of this, the HEAT rounds only grant you around 200mm of penetration... which is less than what the other tanks tend to have @ tier 8 fights. The IS-3's 122mm BL-9 has around 223 pen and the Tiger II's 10.5cm KwK /L68 has around 225 pen. Both of these guns tend to hit for about half as the 152mm gun, but have well over double the pen with standard AP shells AND are considerably more accurate per shot WHILE shooting faster.

To counter this, you shoot HE and deal damage regardless of armor. Act like a direct-fire artillery and peek out whenever you see an opening. Knowing the little bits of info here and there about what the ROF of each gun is tends to help let you know how long you can spend aiming when you pop out.

Low Tier vs the KV-2:
- Faster ROF
- Equal or lower damage
- Equal or lower penetration values
- Equal or lower armor
- Equal traverse and movement speeds
- Higher accuracy

Now for lower tiers, you generally rule the roost. While you may shoot one shot to a Sherman M4A3E2's seven, you can kill him with that one shot potentially. You've still got the worst accuracy and you're still a lumbering direct-fire arty, but if you stick with a couple tanks as the "centerpiece model" of the tank cluster, you'll generally do pretty well.

I shoot HEAT rounds in these lower tier fights because of one reason. Armor. Other tanks tend to have equal or lesser armor than you in these fights, the KV-1S has less than the KV-2 and will generally be in agony if it's not one-shot by your cannon. You'll one-shot anything that has less than 525HP since the lowest roll you can get, for damage, is 525. This makes only the heavy tanks at tier 5 as tanks that can potentially survive a single shot. Also, since you're just as heavily armored as the KV-1, angling your hull appropriately will negate most guns tier 5 and lower. Makes fighting the Derp wielding Panzer IVs and Shermans MUCH less scary. wink.gif They can hit you for around 450 max and that's lower than your lowest roll. So you can almost take two of their shots and they can't take ONE of yours.

But again, reloading is a problem, so you have to stay hidden or have enough distance between you and the enemy so they can't close it and flank you before you reload.

Hope that helps. wink.gif

Yup, imglidinhere is spot on. No use to ever even try the 107mm on KV-2. The 107mm rocked a bit better before the KV-2 came along, not so much now. It just happens to be what I still prefer.

Good grief! Its hard when you get to tier 8+...This KV4 is killin me! Probably have like a 30% win rate with it right now. Played this morning and lost every single match...dumb teams.

I use my Sherman Jumbo to get silver and sometimes I go negative if my team suggs right away with it. But I'll usually be able to squeeze out 5-10k silver on that tank.

I wish you'd get silver for dismissing crew members that are past a certain %...ug. It stinks letting go like a 80% because you have no more use for them and you spent 20k to get them to 75%...hmm

I'm at work, what's all the details for 8.4?
