TT BT disappoinment - Page 3

Thread Starter
Well I picked up a Silverstone FM121 (120mm 110cfm) to replace the stock on my bt and my idle temps are now down to 31*c cpu and 36*c mb and load temps are are 33*c cpu and 39*c mb. I'm hoping once the thermal paste setups up they'll go down a little more. Reason I'm trying to get the temps so low is cause I'm not oc'ed yet and would like to get as low of temps as possible now so I don't have to worry about them later.

May i suggest lapping the surface of the BT that sits on the cpu. I lapped mine and i found that it wasnt very flat to start with, and as im sure you saw, its not a very smooth, fine ground surface. Lapping may drop load temps another 3-5c like it did for me.

when I installed my BT it reduced my temps by 10C, then I lapped it and my ihs but I didnt get further temp reduction, but it does dissipate heat a lot quicker.

I am yet to try the mod of using the copper RAM sinks on the copper baseplate of the BT, apparently that can reduce temps by another 7C or so.

but I'm running my sepron at 2.63GHz with 1.65V Vcore and my load temp doesnt exceed 41C during the middle of the day
