P4 s-478 prescott 3.2 x16 multiplier, D0 stepping.

Currently have it up to 3.8 with a 5:4 divider on the Ram.

Its on a P$P800 Delux mobo with 2x1gig PNY comp usa bought ram, on sale for 100 a stick (total rip off) 400MHZ timings are 3.0-3-3-8.

how can I get it running at a 1:1 ratio, is it possible with this ram?
at 3.6 I can run at 1:1 at 4.0 it posts but windows will not load.

Current Idle temp is 37*c Will start stres tessting as soon as I figgure out how far I can squeez this CPU and RAM.

did you figure it out? the best way to safely run 1;1 is buy the ram that is already at the speed thats over the divider. itstead of buying pc3200 and OC at 1;1 you stress the ram.when you could buy pc4000 and run it safwly and more stable get it

you will need to goto the bios and set the divider or dram timing to 500 to get a 1:1 with those settings.. and how did ya get the overclock.net thing on the bottom of your cpu-z also your vcor might need to be bumped up some to make the 4ghz boot.. when you says p$p im assuming you ment the p4p800.. have you done the droop mod to this board yet.. if not i highly recomend getting it done or doing it yourself..

I downloaded CPUZ from overclock.net, thats why its on there.

Around how much volts should I be playing with when setting my vcore, if I want to hit 4.0?

At which setting should I start?

and can I hit a stable 4.0 with my current ram?

I tried setting it on the lowest divider, and played with the Vcore a lil, any time I change vcore from auto it wont post. Now with the lowest ram divider, AGP\\pci bus locked on the lowest, ram core on auto, and vvore on auto, it posts, but will not load windows.

Edit; where can I find the FAQs on this site, I cant seem to locate them.

i have my vcore around 1.55 but i have a 2.4 so you might not need that much.. are you refering to a faq for the droop mod ??? i would leave the ram timings on auto for now till you can get a boot in windows.. does your system post when you change the vcore or is it just nothing .. ???

Ok so I hit 4.0 see screen, should I try to lower the vcore a little in an attempt to lower temperature, or leave it as is? Prime Stability soon to come.

I have the agp\\pci locked to 66\\33 can I increase it 4x or 8x?

how much does that affect stability?

Prime Stress test fails in less than 1 min, where to go from here?

Well what you need to do is lower/raise your overclock until the prime stress test does not fail. I was only able to get my P4 Prescott 3.06 Ghz to a 3.6 Ghz. But I have sucky RAM. It idles at about 40C, and full load it is about 48C. And that is with the stock cooler. You may want to go into your BIOS and tweak with some of the settings. You may beable to go in there and change it to 4x/8x if your mobo will support it. You will see a improvment on games if you can do so. My next task for you would bo to OC your vid card. All I have is a Radeon 9700 Pro 128 MB, Stock Cooler. And it is at 335/350 Mhz (GPU/memory). So good luck, if you need any help, just post it! I recommend ATITool for GPU OC'ing.
Awesome?
