well i know what jumpers are. I did it with my OLD HD but it took about an hour to set the jumpers so it would reconize as SLAVE

I have a router and I think I might do it that way, problem is that whenever I try to connect PC's it never works one pc doesnt ever reconize the other.

I remember onetime I went over MSN and just did a transfer it and went like 4MB/sec so it like used my router as a bridge. if i can do that, that would be better

Well if you need help I have a remote tool I can assist you with that uses VNC.

The easiest way would be the hard drive (assuming you are going from same os to same os) but if you had to I am sure one of us could hook you up with some information as far as helping to set up the network. Its really easy actually, just a wizard or two and then you are golden.

Toss a PM or hit me on X-fire @ Mistole (or aim works as well) if I can be of service.

Go in to Netork connections click in apater you are using and make sure that you have install the Ipx/ netbios protcol. than when during setup of a network make sure you turn on file sharing and that they are both on the same name network.
Edit if you are using a 100mbit connection that is going to slow. I use 1000mbit netork and also only 20 gb that is so little . My dilmmia is i have 160 gbs of music and 60 gbs video's.
I need another 250

both pc's are running XP

BUT i think im gonna use my IPOD, but i just gotta figure out how to delete the music off my ipod for now and allow my ipod to show up in windows explorer and drag and drop

Honestly..just run the network set up wizards for both (as they are both connected to the same router and have access to internet yes?) and when it comes to network name just put the same name in for each.

if you have the adapters installed proper and you run the wizard on both PCs you dont have to mess with any of that.

You should be able to drag and drop files if you share or just use the shared file folders already set up with XP.
