Is 4 GB enough for games?

Thread Starter
Is 4 GB of ram enough to play games and stuff? I have Windows 7 Home 64 bit and I know that this Sony notebook can go upto 8 GB but will it make a difference in performance having 4 GB to 8 GB? I see some OEM rams that are around $90 each for a 4 GB stick so I have to get two of those to make it 8 GB.

It's enough for games.
Unless you are seeing 90-95% utilization on 4 GB you aren't going to notice a difference by going to 8.

like above said....if you don't see 80% of usage ram when your doing anything then no need to upgrade otherwise its just a waste of money.

Ram is the least of a laptops worries when it comes to gaming, GPU is usually the weakest point.

How can you tell if you are using 80% of the ram?
