Are ALL Harddrives OEM?

Whenever I find a good Harddrive online they are always OEM, thats not a good idea when shipping

Its much cheaper for the company selling it (and for you).

The shipping depends on how good its packaged. If they package it right, it will be fine.

OEM drives are shipped VERY well packed and offer not only a smaller price point but a longer warranty as well. 5 years as oposed to 3 years for a retail drive

Almost all of the drives I have gotten over the years have been OEM. I have never had a problem with shipping, they are always packed well, all the places I have orderd from have wraped them in serveral inches of bublewrap.

OEM drives are cheaper for the retailer, therefore the savings is passed down to the public. However it depends on who you buy it from, if it's shipped packaged well, then there shouldn't be a problem at all. If the packaging sux then I would be concerned, yes. Local retailers sometimes have good sales on their retail HD, it's close to OEM prices minus tax, so if you can wait for a good sale.
