Well to be honest, I believe whatever gets you the better performance in the applications you want to use is the best setting for you.

So question, have you benchmarked the memory settings in your title with representative programs for what you usually do with your PC?

Dude chill. You have triple posted within the last 8 minutes. People will get to your thread and its not like a life or death situation obviously you can run your comp with both settings.

The only real way to tell would probably run a benchmark like said above. Also be sure you are completely stable running both speeds and CL's. Link us to your actual ram if you could also.

The 855Mhz should bench better. With the i7 it prefers faster memory than tighter timings. I believe it's best to aim for higher Mhz first then worry about tighening the timings. See this article where they explore the issue in depth.

Obviously faster RAM clock is going to yield better performance, but the timing does come into factor depending on certain things. You just have to make sure that it is stable. As long as it doesn't blue screen or randomly shut down while you are running one of the following you'll be good. =)

MaxxMEM can be downloaded here
SiSoft Sandra can be downloaded here

I prefer the latter one, but it's up to you whichever one you want to use.

780 8-8-8 is probably better than 855 9-9-9.

1560 8-8-8 vs 1710 9-9-9... i'd do the 1560...

it wouldl be a really minor difference in linpacks.

Those ain't it, but I got pretty close (I live in Finland and I'm guessing none of you guys can read Finnish *Bought from a Finnish website*)
They are stable, atleast the **Blend some tests (Lots of RAM tested)** on P95 Doesn't fail.

Why do you say this though? Thats a pretty big difference in speeds if you ask me.

EDIT: you should be able to run at 800 8-8-8-24 according to that link. Try going for the rated spec's quick and see what those yield. Also that ram requires a bit more than your standard ddr3. Make sure that it's running 1.65v in BIOS.
