Problem with RAM & CPU overclock.

Thread Starter
Here are two stable setups I have achieved:

245x11 2700Mhz @1.475v DDR 193Mhz @+.1v 2-3-3-6

230x11 2535Mhz @1.425v DDR 230Mhz @+.1v 2.5-3-3-6

I get 6-7% better cpu marks with the 245x11, but 12% more memory bandwidth with 230x11. I just can't get my motherboard to boot with 2700mhz on the cpu and anything close to 200mhz or more on ddr. Anyone have an idea of how to get 2700mhz on the cpu and 220 or so on the DDR? I've know the dividers, I just can't get a boot.

Also, anyone have an idea why I have to bump DDR voltage on the first setup, which is ddr underclocked, but not on the oc'd DDR?

could be b/c of the CAS 2 timming that would be my only guess.

I'd try loosing the timming to 3-3-3-6 or 3-4-3-6 and see if that lets you take it any higher. CPU speed is king though, so go with what ever gives you the highest CPU speed.

Tried loose timings (3-3-3-6, 3-3-3-8), the problem is trying to run memory at known stable speed, 230 @2.5, with cpu at known stable speed, 2700.

is that 2.5 the vdimm(memory voltage)? I'd bump it up if so. That would help then.

I meant to say 230Mhz @ CAS 2.5 My motherboard options for ddr voltage are normal, +.1 and +.2

So my max memory setting is 230Mhz, voltage @ +.1, CAS 2.5-3-3-6

try different timings. i couldnt get anywhere above ddr433 with CL of 2.5, but when i bumped it to 3 i could o/c as much as i wanted and i didnt even need to overvolt it. in fact, i got it to ddr516 and thats not even my max, my processor is holding it back
try something like 3-3-3-6, and find other stable speeds.
you aren't limited only to what you've found so far

how did you get a memory clock of 193mhz on 245fsb? that doesnt make any sense! 245 running on a ddr333 memory divider is 203mhz.

As you can see above, I tried different timings.

245 gives 203mhz when using a cpu multiplier of 10. I'm using 11.
