Frankly that Mitsubishi is overpriced garbage considering the specs.

LED backlighting is really a marketing gimmick. True LED monitors (OLED) won't be affordable by the masses for a long time and it's only recently manufacturers are pushing out Full Array LED w/ local dimming. I have yet to see that tech implemented in desktop monitors.

True contrast ratio hasn't changed in recent years ranging from 1000:1 to 3000:1. DCR is marketing crap which everyone buys into unless you're a geek.
The good thing about LED backlighting is power consumption, a 120HZ monitor will consume much more power than the a normal 60Hz monitor. LED backlight can help save a lot power, especially when you're running 3 120HZ monitors or more. And the main advantage here is the IPS panel. I think the pre-order price is high, but what specs/price standard is based on when u stated that it is overpriced garbage with those specs ?

Because a 25" (24.6") 1920x1080, 60Hz, TN panel priced at $270 is overpriced and is garbage. Seriously, I'd rather throw that money away than spend it on a TN panel, and 25" with just full HD res, who bought it for that price is definitely not a geek.

OMG. what laptop has a 23" screen ? 23" is too tiny ? Is that why you're using a 50" samsung TV as your PC monitor

Heh. 23" just feels way too small for anything, especially gaming. Yeah I use a TV as my monitor haha. I've tried going back to 20" or 30" monitors and they just don't seem right. It's so much more immersive playing on a big screen.
I've though of getting two more big screens to do surround gaming, but I don't want to take up an entire wall just for a computer lol.

That Mitsubishi isn't true 120hz, and the only 3D it will do is movie 3D. it does it's 120hz through interpolation like a TV.

good luck playing 3D smoothly at the rez that would be outputting. I doubt they would even be able to transfer that many frames over the cable at that resolution.

5.5ms response time is a tough sell if you're buying a monitor for gaming.

Also, my entire rig cost less than that 23" monitor (excluding my two monitors, which together cost $450).

That's the difference between the two; not much.

I have a 23" 2048x1152 monitor, but I'd sacrifice pixel density and a little resolution for 3D.
To you maybe, But i orginal bought a viewsonic montior that had the 1920x1080 res, but took it back because of the view sonic having poor colors and brightness.

When I bought my montior I notice the res differents, I wouldnt sacrifice my native res to go back to 1920x1080 for 3D which why I rather they make one with my native in 3D or atleast a exact model of my current one with 120hz.

More important even then none of them that good enough are under 200 at the time I got my montior on sell in fact I wouldnt even got a montior if my westernhouse 2410NM didnt kick the bucket.

I'd have to get the BenQ 120hz monitor over this. Something about the seeing word "Acer" on my display everyday would make me cringe. Is Acer not the crappiest computer brand around? My friends with Acer laptops end up having to buy a new laptop every 2 years and their products are of very low quality. Cheap in price, cheap in quality too.
