i just installed my ati radeon x1800 512mb PCI express card... the fit was horrible.. the card is huge. but i managed to plug it in, and get it to work. the only problem is when i boot up my computer my mouse and keyboard do not work. I need the mouse and keyboard to work to activate my monitor.. so basically im screwed.

what is the problem?
i think a possibility could be that my PSU is not strong enough to run the card.. but why would that make my USB ports not work? (both my mouse and keyboard connect to my USB 2.0 ports)

NOW i removed my keyboard from the usb port and tried the ps2 port, and it still does not work.

whats wrong?

Um, yeah...
Thats the problem.
The x1800XT itself takes up like 190 watts an hour or something crazy like that.
You need a new PSU, at least 550 watts, and with stable 12V rails, double, tripple or quad rails wouden't hurt either.

No, your computer isn't running because it isn't getting enough power.

The 600 watt Forton (FSP) PSU gets my vote.
Ya know, the one with the quad 12V rails.
