Someone on another forum mentioned that the FSP units have basically the same specs as the new GameXStream. He said that FSP is probably supplying OCZ with the PSUs since OCZ doesn't manufacture any themselves. It makes sense to me. I'd go with the OCZ.

OCZs single 12V rail PSUs are great (Powerstream 520), but their dual 12V rail PSUs are somewhat lacking. Id go with Silverstone.

BTW, Topower makes OCZs power suplies, not FSP.

The Silverstone I beleive will serve you better as ive heard bad things about some of the OCZ psu's.

Heres a review on it : http://www.a1-electronics.net/PcHard...PSU_Sept.shtml
post #7 of 17
The Silverstone 650W PSU is NOT certified for SLI with 7800GTX/7900GTX cards (it is for all other SLI config's). The Silverstone 560W (!!), however, IS certified for SLI with 7800GTX/7900GTX cards. The 560W version boasts one single 12V rail @38A max (45A peak). The 650W version comes in two versions: Silversone themselves admits that the original version is not capable for high end SLI (7800GTX 512MB or X1900's), while the newer version is. It seems that Newegg still carries the original version (based on 12V rail distribution). See here: http://www.silverstonetek.com/Q&A%20POWER.htm

For high end purposes, I'd recommend the FSP Group EPSILON FX700-GLN 700W. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104015
Certified for anything you can currently stuff in your rig.

Non of those, the Fortran FX700 epsilon is the best choice.

Four 12v rails @15amps and I found a thread by a fortran guy saying its really at 18amps and they will be changing the spec number on the PSU sticker to reflect that.

It also has 85% efficiency.

15 continuous amps on each 12v rail for $170, you'd be insane to buy the other PSU's.

Incorrect.

60amps on single 12v rail for around $400
