A few temperature questions

Thread Starter
Ok first off I'm curious if the asus temp's are accurate. I've been googling info and I've seen mention of asus adding 4 degrees to actual temp. So does that mean my temps are actually 4 degrees lower than Asus probe reports?

Secondly I'm wondering if its usual for load and idle temps to be extremely close to each other...by say 2-3 degree C. My idle temps seem to be about 42-43*C on the cpu and about 30-33*C on the chipset. The load temps are 46*C and 35*C. It sort of baffles me that the temp difference could be so low and the only reasoning I can come up with is that the 80mm blows right into the freezers intake OR the temp readings are faulty...

And before someone says something I am infact running 2 instances of prime95 to be sure i'm at 100% load. Anyway thanks for any answers I get and feel free to give feedback about the setup.

first off mate. welcome to oc.net. secondly, u might want to fill up ur system specs under the user control panel section and proceed to read the rules and regulations if u want more help.

thirdly, i think those temps could be correct but it does seem suspicious though. especially when u say u r running 2x prime95 at full load. doesnt seem likely the temp is that low. u might wanna have an independent temperature measurement and confirm.
