Help! Power On! No Power Up?

Thread Starter
I have an ASUS P5AD2-E Premium Mainboard and an Antec 480 NeoPower PSU. I was not sure where to post because the problem is not obvious or I'm just blind and stupid?

When I power down using the, (Antec Super Lanboy), front panel case power button the system shuts down. Example would be overclocking and system reboots etc...

I never worried about this until last week when I shut down and the system did not restart? The motherboard light works the monitor works, the mouse light works the multi-meter shows power to the red wire at the power button? I need some technical expertise with this? Ican set up my system to be benchmarked quickly. If anyone has the time to help me go through the multi meter test sesquence to find the culpret?

I have the front panel off and a cleared bench......HELP me get back to folding I lost 6 spots last week then gained them back only to loose 3 more spots folding I am depressed over this. If I can find the device thats causing the problem I can go from there.

If anybody has ever had a front panel power button problem before it could be helpful? Thanks,
Oknilp.

Bump!

Ok I realize that power problems are very hard to troubleshoot when your not at the machine with the problem? Anyway, I have been testing everthing known to man and of all the strange things to show a problem...

I unplugged all the devices and one by one tested and plugged them back in. I got to the keyboard and whamo! the system booted? Is it possible for a key board to be incompatable with a system? I know the keyboard is not supposed to run with this build because its a Compaq Presario keyboard from my wifes folding rig. I am going to go to my shop and dig out some old keyboards to test and try.

Does anyone know if I should be running a particular specifacation (watts, ohms, volts etc..) for my system? I've not heard of such a thing but the keyboard is the weakest link on this system?

Thanks to those that read my thread I do appreciate your time,
Oknilp.
