"Invalid Game Assets error

1. Close your startup programs then try the game again.

-Go to START/RUN and type in msconfig.
-When the menu appears, click on the Startup tab, take a note what's checked
(so you can check those back when done) then click on Disable all to remove startup items.
-Click APPLY and then OK, reboot the system and retry the game.

2. Do you have emulation software installed or a virtual drive such as?

Alcohol 120%, Blind Write, Daemon Tools, Game Jack, Clone CD, Game Jackal, Xoom Game Clone,
CD Space, Virtual 7 CD, Fantom CD or Anti Black installed you may need to either disable or
Completely uninstall this program or software as these types of applications are known to have conflicts with SecuROM.

Please see the following article in web address below for more information how to disable:

http://support2.vugames.com/vug/answer.aspx?ID=7249

3. Try running the MP demo in compatibility mode for win 98/me.

-To do that right-click the shortcut for FEAR MP DEMO, select properties.
-Select to run in compatibility mode and choose win 98/me.
-Ok it then close and try the game from the same shortcut again.
Remove the compatibility mode if that does not work.

4. Rename Securom folder located in :
C:\\Documents and Settings\\ user loginname\\Application Data

You'll see a folder called SecuRom. Rename it to: aSecuRom
Try the game again.
You might have to do this next time you play, the SecuRom folder will be recreated in the same place,
so you'll have to rename if before you play again (ie: bSecuRom, then cSecuRom). "

This means that you have either edited some of your game files and thus does not match with the server's files. Undid what you did and restore everything back to its original game files. I would guess you edited the cfg file for some tweaks or something.

Also, this could mean that the server's files are different from yours. Perhaps the server rig did not update to 1.04 yet.

Did nothing at all. Just reinstalled it after I installed RAID0, and that's what I've gotten.

Ok, then I'm pretty certiain that it is not your fault; it is the server's fault. The server simply did not update to 1.04 yet, so all the clients that are in the server are still on the 1.03 patch. I guess you'll just have to wait it out.

I clcik "same version" and it only pulls up like 7 or 8 servers....this sucks. F.E.A.R's multi isn't great like CS:S or BF2, but it's fun to just go in a frag for a bit and fast paced...wanted to do it for a bit...but I guess not
