55 degrees is safe for these babes? I'm idling about 38-39, around 47 while priming. I'm happy with my OC until I get better ram.

My bios version is 1010, I think I may have said that already, I know its not the newest, but it should be fine. I have never flashed bios before and really dont want to mess it up.

Ok, first thing I just tried after reading the last few posts.
Cool and quiet is always disabled, never installed it, never installed the stuff for al overclocking, and never installed the nos overclocking. Do I possibly need this stuff installed to overclock it manually? lol If so, thay maybe my big noob problom..

I have just tried
3x htt
200 divider (200 lowest my mobo goes).
230.0 cpu freg
pci express clock 100
dimm 2.60v
cpu multiplier x10
cpu voltage 1.400v
pci clock sync 33.33

With the above, my pc posts, and in the screen it shows 2300, but in my computer it only showed 2.01. Also got a screenshot of cpuz for this test.

I then restarted, tried the same thing, but with htt at 4x, post showed me 2300 again, but windows now said 2.02.

I then started to try other clocks that should work but didnt.
4x htt
200 divider
219.0 cpu freg
pci express clock 100
dimm 2.60v
cpu multiplier x11
cpu voltage 1.400v
pci clock sync 33.33
again, in post it shows 2409, and then it goes and loads windows, and gives me 2.22g. Once I restart after loading windows, and got back into bios, all the settings are saved to what I just set them at, but still only the 2.22. Also had no luck with trying a 1.450 vcore.

w00t w00t!!!!

So I decuided to suck it up, and flash them nasty bios that I was so affraid of! I downloaded the newest version 1011, and I used the asus update program, and flashed my bios in windows, then restarted. My new bios worked, took less then 5 minutes. I then restarted again, went into my buos set these settings.
vcore 1.400v
dimm 2.60v
cpu freq 210
multiplier 11
pci lock 33.33
pci e clock 100
htt 4x
ddr 200 (still going to up it too 400 next and try it with the same settings)
at idle i have a cpu temp of 32 degrees c, and a case temp of 29 degrees c with 2.31g.

I guess Im going to continue to play around now that it all works.
Thanks for actully replying to my posts and gave me suggustions, unlike anandtach

just tried a little bit faster setting at 2.42gig. Ill try that for a day or so, then try for a lil bit more.
heres a lil screenshot, dont seem to be looking that bad I guess, wish I know how I rate with my 3dmark05 score tho.

Does anyone know a good semi decent priced socket 939 cooler that would produce good results? maybe something with a led fan or something that would be good for 2.7gig speeds

Im also wanting to order some corsair xms xpert ram with in the next couple weeks. I really wanted to get this stuff before but at the time of my new case they only made it in single 512mb sticks, and now they got 1gig sticks. $291 is kind of pricey, but it will accent my case well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145019

This cooler is great, it keeps my 3700+ at less than 50C under full load @2.7ghz. It has a blue led and is VERY quiet. It's also very affordable!

25+ hours prime stable @ 2816 w/ stock cooler. the stock cooler is good enough for at least 2.8.
