Well Overall the Games theses days need the RAM as in how much there is as the games out today have bigger game textures to be stored in the ram. So IMO i would keep at 1.5gb at the moment and when you can upgrade to either a different 512mb pc3200 stick to keep spedds constant atleast in single channel. Dual channel does offer some benefits yes but really like i said games need more amount of ram for the bigger game texture files.

yeah enterprise is right , i timed my boot and photoshop load times aswell as fps while playing AA and running the 1.5gb single channel turned out faster then the 1gb dual channel, also funnly enough i did a mem bandwhith test and when they ran dual it only up'd it by 100??? does that sound right to you???

thanks for all your input guys

Sounds about right to me but i dont know for sure as i havent really benched mine. Single channel runs at 64bit bandwidth and Dual channel runs at 128mb so when you get 2gb dual channel then you will have double the bandwidth.
