No, the Opteron based servers outperformed the Xeons. Also, AMD desktop processors outperformed the competition. Although few, there are still people that make educated and informed decisions when purchasing.

Actually intel is still making as much or more money than amd. Most hp, dells, and compaqs still come with the bsic northwood or prescott cpu.

(poor performance) This isn't a secret though, Intel has been fairly open to shareholders about the poor performance due to market loss.

Yes it is, and look at the y-axis....

Intel has been an infurior company to AMD since 2001. But, people running around saying that Intel dying is stupid, because in reality, Intel could crush AMD. But that would be stupid, because then they would be in the same boat as Microsoft in terms of a monopoly.

That being said, there is no doubt that Intel has lost major ground to AMD in the vaunted server market as well as the home user/workstation market.

In a Capitalist society (where growth is the end all / be all ) there can be no doubt that the posted marketshare analysis would be troubling to any corporate investor. The Y-Axis can be looked at in terms of:

Yes, but what have you done for us lately.

This is the reason for Intels movement lately. They have come up with some very solid business decisions that focus on the bottom line.

Quit using question marks. I can hardly read your post like that..
