And that's on the stock BIOS and stock air cooling. The overclock bios can take you farther, but this is 25+ hour Prime stable and my ram is holding me back bigtime, one stick is PC2700 .

If you have a lot of green go for the 3700+ and hope for a good stepping. If your on a budget the 3200+ is a great cpu and will overclock great too, but you need lots of volts.

disagreed!
memory amount matters more than processor speed...
especially with vista upcoming... it'll use at least 400mb to start off
i guess it depends on what he plans on doing with it, but normally memory amount matters more...

Thread Starter
I don't know what firewire is so i wouldn't use that. I don't use it on this mobo anyway so doubt i would need it. And im not reallly interested in SLI because a 7800 or 7900 can run any game on top settings except for F.E.A.R, so ive heard. Thats why im getting the Asrock Dual Sata because i can use my 6600gt for a while and when it becomes i pain i can just buy a 7900 without having to buy a new mobo because it has both an agp and a PCI-E, and still has some PCI slots for my audigy 4 and anything else i need.

The 3200+ it is then. Thanks for the help guys.

Greatly appreciated

Okay, let me put it this way: If you can afford it, get the 3700+. With that board, you should be able to get 2.8 out it (it's gonna want more voltage past that). That's as fast as an FX57, AMD's fastest single core CPU.

yea thats true, and youve got a very good chance of ocing to 2.8ghz as recently all the 3700 overclock very nicely and that is a very cheap fx-57 there, acctualy the 3700 at 2.8ghz will be slightly faster than an FX-57 because off the higher FSB...personaly id go for the 3700, ive got a 3200 and it doesnt OC very well
