7600GT Info?

Thread Starter
I just bought a new eVGA 7600GT from Newegg and I'm just wondering what kind of performance increase I'll see. Anyone here have a 7600GT? What kind of 3DMark05 and 06 scores do they get? What kind of framerates in CS:S, HL2, Doom 3, etc? What brands of aftermarket cooler can I use with the 7600? I know the size is a little bit different than the rest of the cards, so I don't know which coolers will work. Lastly, I plan on using the step-up program within about 2 months, probably to get a 7900GT. Is nVidia going to release any new cards in the next few months or will the 7900GT be my best bet?

The 7600GT is slightly faster than an X850XT or a 6800Ultra.
Very nice!

I know what it's faster than, but I don't really know how well it scores in 3DMark and things like that. I haven't seen any benchmarks...maybe I should look a little harder.

I have the xfx 7600gt xxx and I think it is great. I get a 3dmark 06 score of around 3300, 75500 aquamark, framerates in bf2 between 45-90 (all settings on high 4x aa gamma correct aa, transparency aa on multi at 1280x1024) and I am using the zalman VF700-Cu LED.

I get about 90,000 in AM3 with my 3700+ at about 3 Ghz, and my 610/1620. I had a 6600GT, it's a pretty big increase.

Okay sweet. So the VF700 fits it just fine? How hot does that thing get?

yeah, it fits fine, haven't really looked at temps idle is 42, i'll run aquamark and see what the temp is after that.

edit: 45 after one run of aquamark,46 after 2 runs,46 after 3 runs, new high score to 76967

dont miss the sli part with oblivion lol...if ur a serious gamer get the most u can afford. i thought i went overboard with sli7800gts' but the gaming experience ...well, i got a whole new outlook on things...and i had a single 7800gt for awhile...i personally would head for the 7900 asap unless ur an occasional turn-it-on-for-30-mins gamer, or its a secondary pc...then i would opt for somthing cheaper like the 7600...
