Thread Starter
So im trying to figure out how to adjust fan speeds. How do i do this and also, how can i see the temps on my cpu and vga card. The computer is fairly old , it has a stock gpu cooler and a 8800gt in it. Im practicing on this computer becuase my new one is on the way from newegg. Is there a program i can download that will read temps?

i downloaded that but when i try to change any fan speed it seems to do nothing. It has temps but when i drop a fan to 0% none of them stop and i have tried every one separately.

There may be options that you need to enable in the BIOS of your motherboard to properly read and adjust fan-speeds and temperatures.
As for the fans not stopping at 0% i think your motherboard may have some sort of safety feature to stop you taking fan speeds past a certain point to prevent your computer from overheating. however, try stopping them all together as your fan speeds may be linked as they have been on some computers i have used.

Every motherboard is a bit different, but here's a basic guide on using SpeedFan:

I don't think SpeedFan can control VGA fan speed though.
