P4 2.4 B Northwood (stepping C)

Thread Starter
I have a P4 2,4Ghz B stepping B0 and i'm exhange it for a P4 2,4Ghz B with stepping C.
WIth the B0 stepping i didn't get to much out of it up to 2,7GHz max...
Does anybody have the one with the stepping C to tell mw how much far can i go? I read somewhere that P4 B 2,4Ghz stepping C is a much better overclocker...is it true? do u have proofs?

from what ive read in the past the fact that its a 2.4b is whats keeping your clocks down its not a very good processor in the frist place.. see if you can find a 2.4a or 2.4c

I've got a 2.4D Northy to 3.18 no issues.
Sorry this is out of place but what does stepping mean? ( letter) Like 2.4D ^^ what does that mean?
It's the revision of the chip. Different revisions OC better than others due to design changes, improvements, or most of the time just pure luck.

Oh ic, so the higher the letter the newer the CPU. thanks.

Hey thats my CPU. With a non expensive motherboard, and a non expensive XP=90 + Fan (about 50 bucks total) I overclocked just bearly under a gigahert to 3.333. Definately has potential, any of the 2.4's do. I was supposed to have the worst OC her...tell that to my 40% oc
