I am currently working in a warmer ambient environment than I was last night. OEM TIM was spread surprisingly thin (good). Replaced with a slightly thicker layer of Shin-Etsu X23-7783D. Hard to work with, but managed using the finger/plastic wrap spread method + anhydrous isopropyl (MG Chemicals) + premium coffee filter + heat gun.
Last night: 910/4200 (1 hour) idle @ 1.138v = 64C + Fan Speed = 51%
Currently: 910/4200 (1 hour) idle @ 1.138v = 60C + Fan Speed = 49%
Replacing the TIM has lowered temps by a conservative 4C
. This is without the high-flow bracket installed...YMMV!
