It is good but get a Thermaltake Big Typhoon or a Tuniq Tower 120 instead, both are better.

If clearance is an issue, then it is great. I didnt think the 9500 was much smaller though?

Big Typhoon: 122 x 122 x 103 mm and 813 grams.
Zalman 9550: 85 x 112 x 125 mm and ~500 grams.

Edit: I still would go for the Big Typhoon as it does wonders to produce case airflow and in which the 9500 has little ability.

the xalman is big but its fan isnt laid down with teh fan plane paralel to the mobo. the only dimension that needs to be worried about is teh distance between teh mounting frame and psu.

I bought the same zalman cooler and my temps went down 10-15 degrees fromt thh stock AMD one.

I also added an edge 3d fan in a pci slot to improve air flow in teh case and it also gave me flexibility to cool my graphics card and memory further.
