i'm in the process of building a new computer. i just recently purchased a intel pentium d 3.0 ghz processor what would be the best cooling alternative

i bought a asus motherboard with a nvidia chipset, a western digital 250 gb hard drive, an antec 550 pw supply, windows xp home w/ sp2 ,plextor dvd writer and a x-plorer tower

What is your budget? you could go to water cooling if you wanted to lay down like $200.

Water cooling would be your best alternative for the money it goes for, and for 200 like The Bartender Paradox said above would get you a pretty decent one at that.

But if you dont have that kind of money you should go with air and the tt big typhoon

i also looked at one of those cooler masters aquagate mini. i read up on the pros and cons the only thing i really don't like about those is there not heat responsive. and what good does that do. tt big typhoon looks pretty cool what are the average temps on an overclocked cpu on those.

i also looked at a Zalman CNPS9500LED Xtreme and the reviews i've read say that it kicks the tt typhons butt in the cooling dept but that's there oppinion i really have nothing to base mine on other than that
