Memory Upgrade question

Thread Starter
I recently purchased some G.Skill Memory from newegg during their black friday deals. This kit to be exact for less than hundred bucks.

I already owned this Corsiar XMS3 kit prior to the purchase. I just realized once the G.Skill arrived that they operate at different voltages but same timings. Should I remove the Corsairs and strictly use the G.Skill or can I use them both? Will I run into problems running the ram over its recommend voltage of 1.5 to 1.65? Or should I just sell the XMS3 on CL or eBay?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I guess I have a question: do you really need 12GB?

I don't really need twelve gigs but I was about to purchase an additional 4GB kit from Corsair for like 75 bucks two weeks ago. When I saw I could 2 DIMM of 8 GB for roughly 20 bucks I went that decision.

But do you think its a bad idea to run them both or should I ditch the XMS3?

I don't know, but the Ripjaws are pretty good so they can probably handle 1.65V without a problem.
