Get a 3700+ San Diego as your processor as it can easily overclock to 2.7-3 gigahertz on air. I would reccomend pc4000 ram and 2 gigabytes of it.

i was told that the 4000+ san diego could also push those speeds is that the 3700+ with stock cooling or aftermarket?..nvm i just noticed that you said on air so i guess the armor would qualify this is a sort of stupid question but the 3700+ and the 4000+ are indeed the same processor right?

Well the two actually have pretty much the exact same overclocking potential so you should just get then 3700+ since it is cheaper. I have seen some 3700s at 2.7 with the stock fan and heatsink with some Arctic Silver 5 applied.

I see that you are an ATI enthusiast so I would recommend the x1800xt. It is a good value for the price. At stock it will beat a 7900gt in most games however the 7900gt can be volt modded for some insane overclocking. This is not however something that most people want to do though.

If you got some money to spend you should really try to get the 7900GT- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130015

If you are on a budget-- Get the 7600GT. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150145

Well if you got 600$$ to spend, get 7900GT SLi, but a single X1900XT or GT / GTX will just do fine.

and if you do get the 7900GT SLI make sure you get a SLI mobo.
