The reservoir should be on the suction side of the pump, if it is, you can open it while the system is running and add coolant. Provided the coolant is high enough to cover the inlet and outlet lines taking in to account the wake of the coolant when the pump is running without getting any air bubbles you have enough coolant... a good rule have at least enough coolant to fill the reservoir twice the diameter of the lines over the top of the highest inlet or outlet. So if you have ½ inch lines, and they enter the reservoir 1 inch from the top of the inlet/outlet to the bottom you should have at least 2 inches of coolant at any time. And as long as your reservoir isn’t overflowing you can’t have too much coolant. The more coolant you have the more thermal potential your cooling setup will have.

Thread Starter
ok well as i have already installed it and leak tested and its now runing on it right now but i read in instructions that the pump needed to be primed but didnt say any thing about how to do it but i guess its fine. I must say for my 1st waterc cooling rig i think i have done quite well, my Cpu is about 3c cooler on idle which i feel aint much but is 16c cooler on load droped from 50/51c dual prime to 34/35c. I feel that is a good drop but im not sure what temps other people get, i noticeed my 1800XL droped from 39c idle to 30c idle i would post load temps but i dont have or know any programs that can stress test the G card apart from ATI tool which dont seem to work at all after i got the upgrade fan for it a wile back.

if people think this is good temps then let me know but if not then maybe i will re seat it all and re fill again now i no abit more about it, but i must admit i did do almost all of that apart from move the pump in every angle possible but i did for the rad.

Cheers for help ppl

Your temps are good, don't pay too much attention to idle you wont see anything drastic there but you have dropped 15 off your load. If you used
AS5, you may see a bit more improvement over time. Take into account the warmer weather which will keep them up a bit also.
