Right, but my question was why a closed loop (H50/70 etc) versus a custom loop (pump, rad, block).
Throwing a full cover water block on your card will make it a single slot card (don't forget the single slot back plate).
If you want to overclock your video card, I can't stress enough how great full cover water blocks are. They will keep your temps in the low to mid 40s under full load, and they'll keep your VRMs nice and cool, greatly increasing your card's life expectancy. Air can't get anywhere near that, and has a minimal effect on the VRM temps.
