why would they lose a customer? prices should be coming down with lower labour cost right?

Yeah... I'd agree with that. During the first two months of this year I was having a bunch of hardware problems, and I talked to more foreign tech support people (multiple times) than I've ever talked to in my entire life. Intel, netgear, Abit... Very frustrating.

Tech support, customer service/sales, should be kept in the US. There's nothing more frustrating than repeating yourself multiple times due to the language barrier. I mean, any phone service rep. need to speak the language and well!

I agree with the language barrier thing, but if you are really worried about tech outsourcing destroying the economy you should know that while roughly 3% of all tech jobs are outsourced each year, 5% more new jobs are created.

All this does it make the world a better place. It developes economic growth in the countries, which leads to a stronger world market in itself. Now its when the country may become a very strong economic country that we may need to be worried lol.

Tech support jobs are superficial when compared with what Pauldovi is talking about.

If everything goes overseas then tech support will be here, and then they will be complaining about the language barrier.

That is to say, tech support doesn't make as much money as manufacturing and research and develupment.

Moving manufacturing out of the country seldom produces lower cost products. Nike proved that long ago!
What it does is improve the investment on the stocks and make the welthy ritcher and the poor poorer here in the good ol U.S.A
