The CPU can get as hot as it likes But there still will be a system POST, but make sure you have thermal compound on that CPU or enough of it atleast.

Thanks for all the inputs guys. I really appreciate it.

I did the basic troubleshoot, still to no avail. It won't POST.

Then I checked the thermal paste, and what do you know, it looks like there's too much of it. On all four sides of the processor, the paste got leaked out (like when you put too much glue on paper and it seeps out on the sides when you paste). I'm not exactly sure if that's the source of the problem, because my CPU temp was around 40C at load with overclock. It's just that my mobo was abnormally hot.

Well, just to be sure, I ordered Arctic Silver 5 and the cleaning solution today. Hopefully that'll take care of the problem, and if not...well, I guess I'll just have to rob a bank or something

I would simply test that CPU in another motherboard to test it works.
