I think he meant that he used an extension cable and now the plugs where they meet won't fit behind the tray.

If you think you want to add an SSD or additional (albeit 2.5") drives, the second one would have to be it.

You might also check this out:

It's a while lot cheaper than Lian Li BZ-U03

and the Scythe Kaze Station 3.5" isn't a bad all in one, if you also need fan controlling.

Im planning on running a 360 rad at the top of the case. Doing this ill loose the usb and audio ports on the top. I considered modding the front panel to mount the I/O ports. Ive decided instead to mod the 3.5" bay cover to accept the I/O flip open door. I bought an extra bay cover in case i mess up the first one.

I have removed the triple hd cage inside to make room for water cooling parts. W/ the modded bay cover i should still have room for my WD640AAKS storage drive in that bay.

Also the triple rad setup will take up most of the top 5.25" bay, so im going to run a slim optical drive using lian li's EX-553B 5.25 Bay Convetor.

Ill be putting (2) 64GB SSD's (RAID0) for the boot drive. Im trying to cram alot of ***** in a small case, but i think i should be able to pull it off.

I havent gotten that far yet. but im sure you should be able to shorten most of the cables quite a bit. Thats another reason im going for the Corsair AX850, its fully modular(every cable) so i can shorten them as needed and still be able to order replacements if i ever need to sell the psu.

I got to thinking earlier, I was planning on using a single WD 640AAKS for data storage besides the raid0 SSD's. But my current rig has 2 WD 150gb velociraptors that i will no longer need. I was trying to think of a way to mount those two in raid0 for storage. i just need to find a place to mount them. Ill be running a Black Ice Stealth 360 w/ 120x25mm Yate loon fans at the top and a Black Ice Stealth 240 on the bottom of the case. Im just wondering if anyone has any ideas as of where to mount the 2 Velociraptors w/o restricting airflow? Im going to be using a mATX mobo so there is some room at the top.
Any other ideas will be considered. I can half fit one in the 3.5" bay and the lower 5.25" bay will house the optical drive and SSD's. the top bay is off limits due to the rad and fans.
Or i just had this idea, idk if it will clear the rad and fans at the top.

I currently have the stock fan mounted to the outside of the case. Im going to order a Scythe "SLIP STREAM SLIM" to mount on the inside, hopefully it will clear the rad.

Back to the I/O bay device. I had a silverstone I/O leftover from my htpc build. The problems i see w/ that. Cosmeticly it just doesnt fit the clean look of the case. I think my previous idea of mod'ing the 3.5" bay cover and use the little door looks cleaner.

Also the silverstone I/O has a lot of wires. those would be a pain for cable management. And Who really needs a firewire port on the front.
This is the mess of cables on the back side.

The one i posted earlier has 2 usb 3.0 ports and the audio, thats 3 wires all together.

This is what I've put in mine (just waiting for the slim drive to come in). If you want you can also put a single 3.5 instead of two 2.5" drives.

I've also thought about putting in two 750GB or 2x 1TB 2.5" drives in it as my storage drives and then go to triple drives in the cage for RAID 5 (640GB WD Blacks). Might be over kill.

I did get everything routed cable wise. I actually didn't need the extender (big surprise ) which help everything fit behind the motherboard.

Just a word to others. I had the top off of mine because I added a fan to it. (pics coming, I promise) and at first I thought this was the best way to do it since it makes cable connections at the end of the motherboard really easy to get to. However, I found out that without the top on it was easy for the case to get out of square (no Lian Li's fault, just materials) which can make mounting cards & getting the top back on a bit of a PITA (I scuffed a bit of my brand new paint )

Also, I do love this case, but a word to those who haven't played in it yet. This is no CM HAF (my last case), there is very little room to work in it. Just go calm and plan on some extra time. (trying to run two motherboard power cables around a TRUE with a push pull took me way longer in this case).

i was thinking of modding or having someone mod the front 3.5 panel for the silverstone one, so it gives it a lian li look

or i might get that 2 port usb3 or the esata/usb one (though this cost not cheap )

Im starting to go that way, put one of the drives in the 3.5" bay(flipped to hide the wires) and put the second one in the bay adapter. Then i would mount the SSD's in mounting kit like this one Rosewill RX-C200 2.5†SSD / HDD Aluminum Mounting Kit for 3.5" Drive Bay and mount it in the space at the top over my mATX mobo.

I removed the triple drive cage to mount my pump and rez. So thats not an option for mounting drives.

You would prob have a better chance modding the silverstone one than using the lian li cable. If you look at the pics its larger than the stock one from the A05N. Idk if it would even fit in a 3.5" bay.

Another thing I've thought about for adding storage to this case is the Lian Li BZ-525B which adds 4x2.5" bays for laptop / ssd drives and an open vent (with filter) front (which might help the case breathe better).

might be fun to combine it with a bunch of good sized 2.5" drives and an Perc 5 card
