That's one thing I forgot to mention in my first impressions post. The aluminum Lian Li uses is so sexy. I doubt I will ever buy a non-aluminum case now.

Just got in my NH-d14 and the Gigabite 990fxa motherboard. the board is SICK! really nice and it looks well built far better than the MSI junk I had bought!
The Noctua...what else can you say? I read about massive and I thought I knew. But unless you see one and touch it ...omg!
I will be up late after work starting the build. Basic and boring to most of you as its just a simple set up -not real heavy on the mods or anything...The next a05nb will be for just me and it will be modded to the max! But this fan/mobo are so dang cool!

Ohhh forget get it....

Thats what she said...

I also have a Noctua cooler but I have the C14 instead. It indeed huge. I also didn't realized just how big 140mm fans are until I had one in my hands. Not to mention 3 in the top panel.

I am thinking about this case. How is the cooling stock? How hard/expensive is it to mod such that it can air cool as well as something like a CM 690II or HAF X?

I used to have D14, damn it was huge and annoying to work with.
Love my Antec 620 a lot more.

Sorry to tempt you into that pitfall. smile.gif
It was like Christmas for me. I am an old man(41) and its been a while...my last build was 12 years ago.

I was so happy to see everything, I have already stripped the case and installed the 2 120mm case fans and I was starting to get the 140 mm into the new top from Lian Li when the wife came home.
This bad boy is going to be built quick! I cant wait to step forward to the present with this computer. My current rig is so slow and messed up. It was one of the first Lian Li cases...Maybe I will take some photos of it before I throw it away. I modded it and painted it. Some cool old school stuff you guys might have never seen.
Like 80 to 60 mm reducers. old school! cool.gif

Getting the top from loan li dropped my temps considerably. If you have a dremel or a saw you can do or even cheaper.

I'm actually yet to put the side panel on so i couldn't give you an accurate reading. I put it on once to see what the temps would be and my PC shutdown after a few mins of Kombuster. Mind you both of these puppies are OC to 915Mhz so they like to stay nice a toasty. Once i Install those top 120mms ill be sure to post temps.
